Design Spark: Describing the Inspiration

What I love about design is that moment where you visualize a concept it just comes to you all at one time.  When this happens you can't get the idea down fast enough.  I get anxious that the opportunity will pass, or that I'll forget something, even more burning is to share that vision with someone.  When this Design Spark hits you, can't wait to map out whatever it is as a visible that can speak for itself and explain in a way that you just can't describe.

Translating the idea onto a tangible visual is what I love about design.

This process transcends products, brand creation, architecture, events, marketing, inventions - any visual that can be shared and experience by others.

How do you describe the process of concept development?   I wondered about this for many years because for me there is a process.  You can't control when it happens, but you look  for inspiration, think and think and think some more.  For me, I need to make sure I'm reviewing, scanning, searching, calling all the options so that I know I'm selecting or achieving the best there is.  And suddenly it happens!
 
If you could teach how to harness this process, you'd be gold to artists, photographers, musicians, painters, engineers, writers and designers.  Everything is of perception,  but sometimes you just know when its good.
